Interesting collection of 24 strips of navy blue cloth, with sewn on buttons on each strip.  The strips of cloth are about one yard long and 2" in width.  The buttons are celluloid, plastic, metal, and a few Bakelite.   Some of the strips have children's names on the back which makes me think these were some assignment for sewing skills perhaps? I would guess these buttons to be from the 30's or 40's.  Over 7#'s when weighed and LOTS of buttons.  There are buttons missing from the strips either from time or from people "borrowing" from the strips.  There are HUNDREDS of buttons here, some mundane and some interesting, but all vintage.  Counted one strip and it had 123 buttons on it, another had 85 etc. so conservatively well over 1,000 buttons.
