GORGEOUS ANSONIA ROYAL BONN LA SEDAN PORCELAIN CLOCK CASE! Royal Bonn is the nineteenth-and twentieth-century trade name used by Franz Anton Mehlem, who had a pottery in Bonn, Germany, from 1836 to 1931. Porcelain and earthenware were made. The factory was purchased by Villeroy & Boch in 1921 and closed in 1931. Many marks were used, most including the name Bonn, the initials FM, and a crown. Beautiful original clock from Ansonia...for mantel or parlor...marked on the back side with the Royal Bonn 1755 seal, as well as the pattern name of LaSedan being embossed in the back lower left corner. Fabulous multi-colored floral design that adorns the front of the case...pretty chartreuse green accent backgrounds the bouquet and face...lovely rose color for the top and sides of the case. Some general age crazing as would be expected for it's age...minor hairlines and some discoloration on the back lower right hand foot...does not harm the integrity of the piece or mar display. Brass front opening door frame is in fine condition, as is the glass or crystal...ornate brass embossed fancy face has clear numbers and what appears to be the original hands. The back side of the case carries the Royal Bonn Germany insignia with the Crown and FM. Inside the tin back works cover we have a set of 8 day Ansonia Clock Co. marked 4 & 1/2" brass works...in working condition with what appears to be the orignal pendulum. Gong strike at the hour and half hour...truly a beautiful piece for your collection. As with all of our estate clocks and timepieces, a professional cleaning and final adjustments after shipment to you, is highly recommended for proper running accuracy. Measures in at 11 & 1/2" tall and 9 & 1/4" tall. Replacement key is provided. Ask questions if you have them...will be carefully packed and shipped promptly upon confirmation of your payment. We pack carefully, as if it will be our own, taking great care using GREEN materials when possible. For this, we incur substantial packing costs associated with proper delivery to you. As much as we so appreciate our clients, new and old, please do not bid and buy from us if you intend to leave negative ratings in feedback for the costs of shipping carefully to you.
