APC Matrix-UPS Controller Unit

Up for auction is an APC Matrix-UPS Uninterrupted Power Supply Controller Unit Mdl MX5000PE in great used cosmetic condition.  The case covers of the unit are in excellent condition and show no signs of cracks or scratches.  The display of the unit is in pristine condition with no signs of visible damage on it.  Please refer to the provided pictures for details.

As we powered on the unit the front display as well as the fans turned on.  It display gave a message stating that the unit would be running in bypass mode because the Smart-Cell battery packs were not connected.  After exiting this menu, the controls would only toggle between shutdown mode and bypass mode.  Due to this, we were unable to navigate the menus any further.  Next we then tried each of the outlets in order to see if they were drawing power.  Each of the outlets tested seem to be in excellent working condition.  Last we tried using the internal backup batteries of the unit.  Unfortunately, the unit would not continue to power on the outlets after the hard-line power turned off, so we assume that the internal batteries are dead.  We found some specifications for the unit online and have included them below:
