Manufacturer’s Manual

The APC Smart-UPS 1000XL is an extended runtime model. It is able to have battery packs added to it to provide an extended runtime. It is modular, and can be expanded as the need arises. Please click on this link to open the extended runtime option window. In this window you can see the effect a load will have on the UPS with any number of battery packs.

The APC Smart-UPS 1000XL can have a maximum of 4 SUA24XLBP external battery packs attached to it. As an example, if you had a 100W load on this UPS it would provide a runtime of an 1hr and 24minutes. The APC Smart-UPS 1000XL with 4 external battery packs attached, would have a runtime of 30 hours and 28 minutes. If only one external battery pack is attached to the UPS with a 100W load, the runtime available would be 9 hours and 45 minutes.

Attaching battery pack modules to the APC Smart-UPS 1000XL provides a significant increase in runtime. Battery packs can be attached as needed and can provided a very long runtime.

A serial communications cable (940-0024C) is included with this item. It will give you greater control and customization options for this UPS.
