With AirPort-enabled Macintosh systems, it's easy to exchange files, share music or play multiplayer games at data transfer rates of up to 11 megabits per second at 2.4 GHz. Since antennas are built into all new computers from Apple, with the Base Station all you need to add is an internal AirPort Card for each AirPort Card-ready system you want to bring onto your wireless network.

AirPort and AirPort Extreme are compatible with all AirPort products, as well as Wi-Fi certified 802.11b wireless products. This means that the range is up to 50 meters (168) feet at 11Mbps. The Snow Airport Base Station includes one built-in 56k V.90 Modem with RJ-11 connector, built-in 10-BaseT Ethernet Port with RJ-45 WAN connector (for DSL routing), RJ-45 Ethernet LAN connector for buiilt-in 10/100Base-T and Airport wireless signal. The base station has a capacity of 50 users and supports 128-bit security encryption. The IEEE802.11 HR Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) is compliant with Mac and PC capable of receiving its signal.

The base station supports the following protocols: AppleTalk, TCP/IP, NAT, DHCP, UDP, FTP, PPPoE, L2TP, DNS, IPSec/VPN Passthrough, SNMP, Telnet.

Included is the power supply, wall mount and ethernet cable.

Note: Apple's OS system contains all software and easy setup instructions for the base station.
