INTRODUCING APPLE IPHONE 3GS
It looks the same, it feels the same. Unless you noticed that some of them state "32GB" on the back, it's visually indistinguishable from the iPhone 3G.
... then you turn it on, and notice a few things that seperate it from the still-available iPhone 3G.
Announced June 8th, the iPhone 3GS is the latest and most powerful iPhone OS device out there... but it looks exactly the same. What's so hype-worthy?
"S" stands for speed
In the most basic of terms, the iPhone 3GS has effectively doubled it's strength on the inside. This will allow games to load quick, graphics to run smoother, and increased network capabilities to take advantage of better AT&T networking in the near future.
Compass
An internal magnetometer in the device allows for a Compass app, and compass directions, to be added to the device throughout.
Video recording
The camera has been upgraded to 3 megapixels, and with that and the improved speed, Apple has introduced a video camera mode to it's Camera app.
New screen:
Most won't notice this, as it's an upgrade that's not meant to be seen. The screen is now oleophobic, meaning that oils shouldn't build up on the screen. If your iPhone has ever looked greasy from regular use, this should cut it down.
The Apple iPhone 3G S 32GB is a phone which has an unassuming style but has bags of appeal. It looks sleek and stylish and is full of functions and features that provide multiple means of entertainment.
The phone weighs in at 135 grams. Its dimensions are 115.5mm x 62.1mm wide. It is only 12.3 mm thick. It utilises the ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz CPU and also the PowerVR SGX graphics facility. Its operating system is based on the MAC system and is aptly called the iPhone OS.
The phones display screen is a 3.5 inch TFT capacitive touch screen which displays over 16 million colours at a pixel size of 320 x 480 pixels. The screen offers a vibrant colour representation and provides true life like imagery. The phone comes with an innovative multi touch input method for accessing functions. Several sensors are offered which include an accelerometer and proximity sensor. These provide the means to alter the aspect of images and auto shut off the phone to conserve battery life.
The phones internet capabilities are equally impressive with its HSDPA connection offering speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps as well as the useful Wi-Fi function.
