Genuine quality natural Australian opal direct from the miner at unbeatable prices.

Welcome to our ebay auctions. We are second generation miners and have over 20 years experience in mining, cutting and wholesaling rough opal, cut opal and jewelry.

Our qualifications include a certificate in opal industries practices at the Spencer Institute of Technical And Further Education (TAFE) Coober Pedy. We are producing opal on a regular basis. Buy your opal directly from the miner and get the best deals around. Check out our feedback and expect to be a satisfied customer!

This light crystal based opal bivalve full shell (sandstone filled) specimen was recently mined on the Old 15 Mile opal field of Coober Pedy Australia.

Collectors specimens like this are becoming increasingly rare due to the major fields being mostly worked out and declining mining activity.

This spectacular piece displays beautiful multicolor light crystal fire around the shell and has been left with it's pristine natural fossil definition apart from a polished window on one side.

Note the Gastropod attack drill hole on the untouched side. This is apparently where a Gastropod snail made a meal of this bivalve in the ancient inland sea of Australia.

WEIGHT: 70.55 carats.

DIMENSIONS: around 40 by 33 by 17 mm

BRIGHTNESS: A nice 3 out of 5 wherever polished.

This stone could possibly yield some opal but is certainly better left as a world class specimen.
