A Little Kewpie History

Kewpie®, the popular illustrated creation of Rose O'Neill back in 1909, has been in continuous production for over 90 years and is a perennial favorite with a large following of dedicated collectors.  Kewpie® was created as a baby version of the god of love, Cupid.  Kewpie first appeared as magazine illustrations and advertisements. Shortly thereafter, Rose began receiving letters from children asking for a Kewpie they could hold.  After numerous prototypes the Kewpie doll was introduced in 1913 and remains enduringly popular.  Rose O'Neill was a remarkable turn-of-the-century illustrator and artist, as well as a great philanthropist, poet & novelist.

Domestic (within USA)

• The Flat Rate Shipping/Handling Charge for this package to addresses within the USA is $8.00. If the cost is more, we will pick up the difference!

• For orders 2 pounds or more, we generally ship via UPS Ground.  For orders under 2 pounds, we generally ship via USPS Priority/Insured delivery. If you require or request USPS Priority/Insured delivery instead of UPS, we are happy to accommodate you but S/H costs will be more expensive for packages OVER 2 pounds and will be based on USPS rate charts. This rule also automatically applies to all customers in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam or who have P.O. or APO/FPO Boxes.

• We do offer expedited shipping methods at an additional cost.  (UPS 2 Day, UPS 3 Day and Express Service available.) Please query before submitting payment.

• Shipping is via USPS Express or USPS Priority Intl Delivery only and must include Insurance.

• Shipping Rates are exact and based on USPS website charts.  Packaging/Handling for intl. packages is assessed at $1.00 for each item after shipped within the same package.  All rates quoted are in USA Dollars.

• All items will be declared and insured at the winning bid price as per postal regulations.  You are responsible for customs & duty charges if applicable.  These are optionally charged by your local customs department.  Each country has different rules, so you may wish to check with your local customs department in advance if you have any questions.

• Depending on method of delivery, you will receive either a UPS tracking #, a USPS Delivery Confirmation # or a USPS Customs & Insurance # within approximately 1 - 2 business days (M - F) of shipment.
