CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY THIS GENUINE ORIGINAL ANTIQUE/HISTORICAL ITEM IS WARRANTED TO HAVE BEEN PRINTED AT THE DATE STATED. The artist's/draughtsman's drawing or painting was typically engraved by hand onto what was called a 'plate', in the case of steel/copper/stone engravings. The printing press was then used to transfer the picture onto paper. All my offers are genuine antiquarian/historical items actually published in the year [or period] shown. The term 'original' is used to emphasise that IT IS NOT A MODERN DAY REPRODUCTION
