Fort Lewis additionally supports more than 120,000 retirees and 29,000 family members through a wide range of services, including full-service medical care provided at Madigan Army Hospital. A vital component of U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Lewis supports more than 20 distinct units and has served as headquarters for the legendary I Corps since 1981. Providing critical infrastructure for training, logistics, and operational support, Fort Lewis plays an essential role in strengthening America's defense.
