Founded in 1977, the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) utilizes advanced intelligence gathering and information analysis technology to enhance the combat capabilities of America's Armed Forces throughout the world.

Fulfilling its mission to provide America’s soldiers with critical real-time information to enhance their combat capabilities, INSCOM collects, analyzes, and distributes intelligence data across a variety of disciplines and also conducts a full range of electronic warfare, counterintelligence, and force protection activities.

A global command consisting of four brigades, INSCOM provides battlefield-specific information tailored precisely to the needs of the forces its serves throughout the world. 

This coin salutes the innovative efforts of all members of the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, whose dedication and skill guarantees America’s military superiority.

The obverse bears INSCOM's official Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, which contains, at its center, a gold double-webbed key, symbolic of the command's information control capabilities. In addition to the key, the design contains a lighting bolt and a torch, symbolizing global power and vigilance. The reverse bears the Distinctive Unit Insignia for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, which contains a double-webbed key set against the backdrop of a blue, grid-lined globe.

Minted in a brass alloy and finished in bronze, this coin is imbued with gold and blue enamel on both sides.
