ART DECO SILVER GUILLOCHE ENAMEL CORAL CIGARETTE CASE

This is for a fabulous original art deco sterling silver and guilloche enamel cigarette case from 1934. It is an absolute beauty...and in excellent condition too. The case has a lovely pearl coloured enamel engine turned with a typical sunburst pattern underneath and a lovely hand carved mountain coral appliqué in the centre.  The appliqué is studded around the coral with little marcasites for that extra sparkle and the whole front is framed with a beautiful blood red enamel frame. The inside of the case has a warm gilt wash all over and it carries a full set of English sterling silver hallmark dating it to Birmingham 1934 along with a makers mark for the eminent silversmiths of the time Adie the Brothers. It is in absolute excellent  condition with no damage to it anywhere, there are no chips or cracks to the enamel, its glassy smooth and the inside is clean with no discolouration or rubbed gilding, it even has its original elasticated strap which hasn't stretched. It measures 83mm x 69mm.
