Here is one of my very favorite, if not my very favorite painting..it is a stunning, very lovely wavy-haired redhead w/ green happy eyes and those movie star red lips .  She is in a tropical setting w/ a risque' blue bikini on..for back then. I would guesstimate this to be from the 1940's time frame again..with her hairdo and her precious , really modest bikini .Very Art Deco . It is signed Eugene Leliepure. This is extremely well done , painted by a famous French artist Eugene Leliepure. He is most known for painting military subjects and in 1950 he was made the Official painted of the French army. I had a nice , knowledgeable French ebayer write me and tell me about this artist and that he also painted women w/ bunches of flowers around them as well. He mainly did the military art and did that for over 50 years. He was also a French historian.

  It is on canvas, has some craquelure throughout but nothing that compromises the quality or integrity of the painting .  It is large, measures 25 1/2 x 22 1/2 without the frame..with the frame it measures 29 x 34 ins. approx.  I bought this many years ago at the Metrolina Antique Show in Charlotte, NC  from an art dealer. She has one crack line around her eye, not really visible..but for the super picky ebayer I am trying to mention anything I see. I would consider the painting to be in very good condition. It is a fantastic piece of art and a wonderful example of late Deco art. Any questions please email me.
