@ ART NOUVEAU ART DECO ART GLASS VASE VANDERMARK '85 @

Offered for your bidding consideration is this unique handblown limited edition art glass vase from world renowned art glass artists Vandermark Merritt Glass of Flemington New Jersey. This wonderful vase is truly inspired by its Art Nouveau Art Deco motif. Doug Merritt has been blowing glass in New Jersey since the late 1960's and his work is represented in the permanent collections of the White House, the Chrysler Museum, the Smithsonian and the Corning Museum of Glass to name a few.  This beautiful vase consists of  clear irridescent glass and has a highly intricate and complicated "confetti" pattern that has been applied to both the interior and exterior of the vase. I have a compote made by Vandermark with a similar confetti pattern also listed. The interior pattern consists of blue and pink colored irridescent glass. The exterior pattern is composed of white and gold irridescent glass and has been applied in an opposing pattern from the pattern on the inside of the vase to enhance the confetti effect. Extremely hard to do and wonderful to behold! I get dizzy just looking at this vase (maybe it's because I'm a former blond before my hair started to turn gray and fall out!).  The raised shoulder of the vase and outurned lip of this wonderful piece of art glass just add to the complexity and drama of this hard to find piece of art.  This unusual vase measures 6 & 1/2 " tall by 4 & 3/4 "at it's   widest point. It is properly signed "Vandermark 0933  85", making this vase almost 25 years old. It is in wonderful condition with no chips, cracks, nicks or repairs.
