NOUVEAU Embossed Paper Composite Photograph Frame
Intertwining Lines w/ Pinecone*Cabinet Card Photo Frame*Holds 3 ¼” x 4 ¾” Photograph
Hello, everyone! I’ve made some minor changes, so please read carefully. Last summer, I told you that I had lots of vintage necklaces, earrings, bracelets, brooches, rings, cufflinks and more to auction. It is now spring of 2008, and I have only made a very small dent in my inventory!! Also, I recently began selling two separate estates, as well as misc. items for friends and family. WOW!! The estates belonged to two separate women who had many varied interests, as well as a large number of well established collections, so I’ll now be selling an even wider variety of items such as old enameled glassware, art glass, dolls, doll clothes and accessories, as well as doll furniture, books on dolls, vintage sewing collectibles, even more jewelry – both gold and sterling – new and vintage, beautiful vintage hats and hand-tooled leather handbags and terrific vintage purses, paintings, enamelware, lovely old porcelain, including a collection of Hummel’s, books, many one-of-a-kind items, loads of linen and much, much more! So, be sure to add me to your “favorites list!”
Also, please make note that once in a while I may not have anything up for auction; that’s because we help with the care of our grandson. It is all but impossible for me to work while we are caring for him. All I can say is please hang in there with me, and if you already have I would like to say a big thank-you for your understanding and patience and for not taking me off your ‘favorites list.’ I appreciate all my buyers, especially the buyers who continue to come back and visit my auctions over and over again.
Offered for auction is an Art Nouveau textured paper composite embossed photograph keeper/frame made of rather stiff card stock. During the Nouveau era, if someone had commissioned a professional photographer, then the photo(s) were most likely presented in this type of paper composite keeper/frame or something similar. Obviously, I am having trouble describing this; that’s where the phrase “…a picture is worth a 1000 words” comes in! Sorry for the pun! So, …please see my photos of this item and you will know immediately what it is that is being offered for auction.
The embossed Art Nouveau design is on the front cover, which opens from right to left and measures 5 ¾” x 4 ¼” in this closed position. The embossed design features intertwining lines that frame the inside of this front cover; becoming more elaborate at the top, incorporating a pinecone into the design - it is really quite lovely and very appropriate for the Nouveau era. There is also a sheen to the card stock when turned toward light, as seen in the photo(s).
Once the front cover is opened, it measures 8 ½” x 5 ¾” and exposes half of the photograph inside. Next there is a half page that opens from left to right; once it is open the measurement becomes 11” x 5 ¾” and the photograph is entirely exposed at this point. It’s possible this once held a small cabinet card photograph or similar type. This item is in excellent vintage condition, with no damage; it is perfect – near mint. The inside has (4) perforated corners to accommodate a photograph that’s approximately 3 ¼” x 4 ¾”. (PLEASE NOTE: This auction is only for the Art Nouveau textured paper composite photograph keeper/frame. There is actually no photograph inside (you provide that) nor does this auction include a photograph for sale. Thank you.) All questions welcome. This is an auction …have some fun and thank you for looking!
New Rule(s): Insurance, which is optional on most items, is strongly recommended and is the buyer’s responsibility. I no longer mail each package with a ‘Delivery Confirmation’ - this way I can charge less for shipping. Also, my auctions usually run for 3 or 5 days (other times it may be 7 or 10 days). This too is new – I prefer all payments be received within (7) seven calendar days of “end-of-auction,” but certain exceptions can be made if you need extra time. Also, for the most part, my auctions start at $9.99; however, from time to time that will not be the case. Because I now sell items for others, as well, there will be times when my starting price will be higher. Please keep in mind that a low starting price is not reflective of the quality or value of the item being auctioned!
If you would like another photo or if you have any questions, please ask BEFORE you bid. BUYER should contact SELLER within (3) days after “END-OF-AUCTION” with payment preference, if other than PayPal.
I combine shipping for multiple wins won within 5 days or so of one another. Please let me know ASAP to hold first item until second auction closes. Combined shipping and handling fees can save you a lot!
Shipping usually takes place within 3 to 4 days after PayPal payment is received or after check or money order clears. If you’re happy with your transaction, please leave me feedback. I have 100% feedback score because I stand behind everything I sell and because I care about my buyer’s experience.
I love repeat business so please be sure to add me to your favorites list!
And, as always, please check out my other items!
