THIS IS A (10)TEN(10)-DAY, NO RESERVE, AND INTERNATIONAL COLLECTIBLE BRIAR PIPE AUCTION.PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW ALL OF THE OTHER BEAUTIFUL, NEW, OR FULLY RESTORED AND RECONDITIONED HIGH GRADE COLLECTIBLE PIPES THAT I HAVE LISTED FOR AUCTION THIS WEEK ON EBAY!
It is with great sadness, and true dense of loss that we, the pipe collecting community have lost another great pipe maker. William Ashton Taylor has recently passed away. You are bidding on a MASSIVE formerly enjoyed Ashton "Pebble Grain" MAGNUM" "ELX" sandblasted "ring grain" "Bent Billiard" shaped pipe, with a hand cut amber resin composite stem, and a hand cut rod stock vulcanite stem, that was hand crafted by William Ashton Taylor, in England, in 1986. This pipe's size is so great that it about twice the size of most Ashton Magnum pipes. I have included a picture below with an Ashton XXX size pipe, just so you can see the mass of this monster in perspective! After conferring with Mr. David Field, the original importer of Ashton pipes, I can state that I believe that this is the very largest bent billiard "Magnum" sized pipe that Bill Taylor had ever crafted, and possibly the very largest "Magnum" sized pipe that he had ever produced. I have never seen an Ashton pipe stamped as an "ELX" in addition to being stamped as a "Magnum". This is an amazing opportunity for the advanced collector of Ashton pipes!!! Ashton pipes were oil cured, just like the Dunhill pipes of yesteryear. This produces a very sweet performing pipe with a very easy break-in period. This beautiful pipe has everything going for it! In addition to its great looks, it possesses a wonderful balance and “hand feel”, while delivering a very cool, sweet, and mellow performance! Please don’t miss this opportunity to own and enjoy this amazing pipe!
I have lightly, carefully and thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, rejuvenated, and polished this formerly enjoyed pipe to a pristine condition both inside and out. The only issue that I can see is that the bowl is somewhat "out of the round". Both original hand cut stems are free from tooth marks, scratches, or oxidation. They both shine like glass. It needed almost no work at all, such was the pristine condition of this pipe when I had received it. It is truly ready to deliver immediate enjoyment right out of the box. Here are the dimensions of this beautiful pipe: The overall length is about 13.0" with the composite stem and about 11.0" with the vulcanite stem!!!. The bowl height is 3.975". The tobacco chamber is about 1.30" in diameter, and gradually tapers down the bowl's 3.0" inner depth. Capacity is GENEROUS!!! This stunning one of a kind Ashton pipe weighs 405 grams. Please do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to own and enjoy this gorgeous Ashton "MAGNUM ELX" pipe!
I am running this as a “Private Auction” so that you can bid on this Ashton pipe without worrying about stepping over your fellow pipe collector friends' bids, as well as keeping the winning bidder’s name private. This special Ashton pipe deserves the highest of discretion. I know that there will be extensive interest in this gorgeous pipe! If requested, I will send an e-mail to the winning bidder, showing all of the bidding action at the close of this auction. I want you to bid with the highest of confidence and know that the winning bidder will get to see the list of the other bidders.Once again, this is a TEN DAY no reserve pipe auction. I do not believe in "Reserve" or "Buy it Now" prices. I want the lucky high bidder to own and enjoy this pipe and not have him frustrate himself with bidding on a pipe that is not attainable on a price basis! Just be the high bidder at the close of this auction, and you will win what could again prove to be the best pipe in your collection! Please read and review my eBay ratings and comments. Check out the "ME" section after my eBay name "coopersark". I think that you will find this information very informative and telling! Please feel free to send me an e-mail with any questions that you may have about this pipe. I want you to bid with the highest of confidence! I use only the best of packaging materials. The pipes that I ship have too much time and labor lavished on their restoration and presentations as well as the many of these pipes are irreplaceable works of art. I am not going to risk damage by using lesser packing. Unfortunately, this has to be reflected in my shipping costs, so please bid accordingly. The winning bidder will include an additional $20.00 for Priority Mail shipping, tracking, and insurance. (Foreign bidders will include an additional $45.00 for International Insured EXPRESS Air Mail shipping. As per both Bay and Pay Pal rules, this pipe will ship both fully insured, with the full value declared for customs. You may have to pay additional duty. No exceptions.) Thank you for your interest. Please do not forget to check out my other auctions! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
