ASPREY TRAVELLING VICTORIAN INKWELL LEATHER SILVER 1895

This is for a beautiful Victorian sterling silver travelling inkwell by Asprey with an armorial crest on the lid. I do not know the crest on the lid, it shows a Unicorn and a crown, but i would imagine this belonged to somebody very important. The inkwell is finished in green leather with a silver lid and safety hook, the hook slides up and catches over the little knub on the side, this was just an extra precaution to prevent the inkwell from opening accidentally. There is a glass bottle inside the inkwell and when the lid is closed down the rubber seal in the lid closes and seals the inkwell for transit. It carries a full set of English sterling silver hallmarks dating it to London 1895 along with the makers mark C.A & G.A for Charles and George Asprey. It is in excellent condition, it is all perfectly intact and it displays beautifully. It measures 59mm x 30mm and stands 61mm tall.
