This rare CD is brand new and sealed in shrinkwrap. Every summer the city of Athens, GA- legendary home of R.E.M., Widespread Panic, B-52s and more- hosts an annual music festival called AthFest. Athens label Ghostmeat Records releases a CD to showcase the local bands.

The AthFest 2003 CD includes 19 bands. Highlights include rare and exclusive songs from Athens greats including New West Records recording artist Vic Chesnutt and Jack Logan. Chesnutt sings a hysterical ode to a sexually transmitted disease called "What I Got" in a way only Chesnutt can. Logan covers the obscure Hank Williams song "Singing Waterfall." Both recordings are exclusive to this release.

Other highlights include rare and exclusive tracks by Future Farmer recording artists Jet By Day, Lona (featuring member of Now It's Overhead, Hayride and Japancakes), and New West Records recording artist Randall Bramblett w/ Jason Slatton. The CD also features tracks from recent albums including those by Kindercore Records recording artists Paper Lions and Maserati.
