The *Birkin* handbag was originally created in the Fabuourg workshop in Paris in 1984 for the actress Jane Birkin. The Birkin, a smaller version of the *Haut a Courroies* (HAC) is an extremely versatile and highly sought after handbag.

With just 150 skilled Hermes craftsmen trained to make the Birkin and Kelly handbags and where it can take such a skilled craftsman many hours to make such an equisite bag from cutting to finishing, demand for both the Hermes Birkin and Hermes Kelly handbags far exceeds production.

Authentic Hermès Vert Clair Box calf Leather Birkin 35cm with 24K Gold Plated Hardware

This is an extremely sought after colour in Veau box calf, however it is no longer produced at Hermès.

Veau Box Calf leather is fully refurbishable by Hermès and is extremely hardwearing and durable leather. Many of Hermès vintage Kellys, some dating back to over 60 years are produced from this wonderful skin and have stood the test of time.
