The *Birkin* handbag was originally created in the Fabuourg workshop in Paris in 1984 for the actress Jane Birkin.  The Birkin, a smaller version of the *Haut a Courroies* (HAC) is an extremely versatile and highly sought after handbag. 
With just 150 skilled Hermes craftsmen trained to make the Birkin and Kelly handbags and where it can take such a skilled craftsman many hours to make such an equisite bag from cutting to finishing, demand for both the Hermes Birkin and Hermes Kelly handbags far exceeds production. 

The perfect size for ladies and gentlemen who prefer a larger bag - perfect for the office and travel

Markings

Hardware

Gold Plated hardware including: Padlock with 2 keys, lock plate, strap closure plates engraved Hermès-Paris-made in France and 4 protective feet.

Year

The craftsman stamp on this particular authentic Hermès Birkin is extremely difficult to read - I would estimate that this bag is 10-12 years old and the stamp under a loop appears to be an A stamp which would date this bag to 1997.

Condition

Used good pre-owned condition commensurate with use and age.  Please note this bag is not brand new, never used and therefore condition can be subjective. 

 

The body of the bag has surface scuffs and the corners show wear.  The hardware has scratches.

 

Hermès Veau Fjord is fully refurbishable by Hermès and Hermès could repolish the body of this bag and hardware, although it is not needed.

Please ask for any further pictures required prior to bidding.  This is not a brand new, never used handbag.
