Hèrmes founded in 1837 by Thierry Hèrmes, quickly gained a reputation for luxurious leathers and quality craftsmanship. Almost 170 years later, Hèrmes is stronger than ever, using only the finest skins in the World to handmake every unique handbag.

The *Hac* was the original Hermès model that the*Birkin* handbag was designed from in the Fabuourg workshop in Paris in 1984 for the actress Jane Birkin.

The Birkin which was modelled from the original Haut a Courroies is an extremely versatile bag. With just 150 skilled Hèrmes crafstmen trained to make the Birkin and Kelly bags and where it can take such a skilled craftsman many hours to make such an equisite bag from cutting to finishing. Demand for the Hèrmes Birkin far exceeds production, hence the notorious wait lists.

Each handbag will have a code, identifying the craftsman who made it, the year and the atelier it was made in.

Condition	Pre-owned good condition - this bag is not brand new, never used and is priced accordingly. There are some slight surface scuffs (not scratches) and the hardware has some scratches consistent with use. This bag is fully refurbishable at Hermès and the hardware could be replaced with brand new hardware if the buyer chose, although this is not necessary.
