Hèrmes founded in 1837 by Thierry Hèrmes, quickly gained a reputation for luxurious leathers and quality craftsmanship. Almost 170 years later, Hèrmes is stronger than ever, using only the finest skins in the World to handmake every unique handbag.

The *Hac* was the original Hermès model that the*Birkin* handbag was designed from in the Fabuourg workshop in Paris in 1984 for the actress Jane Birkin.

The Birkin which was modelled from the original Haut a Courroies is an extremely versatile bag. With just 150 skilled Hèrmes crafstmen trained to make the Birkin and Kelly bags and where it can take such a skilled craftsman many hours to make such an equisite bag from cutting to finishing. Demand for the Hèrmes Birkin far exceeds production, hence the notorious wait lists.

Each handbag will have a code, identifying the craftsman who made it, the year and the atelier it was made in.

All corners show some wear (please see supersize pictures contained within this auction - the wear shows much more in the pictures than in real life as I have used the zoom close-up .... by viewing all the pictures in this auction, you will note the wear on the corners is not as prevalent visually) - please note that Vache Natural is a natural raw leather that will gain the most fabulous patina over time and marks will blend in with the patina of the bag. There are scratches on the gold hardware consistent with use There is a mark under the turnkey, which again, will blend in with the patina over the course of time.
