Light up the evening with this beautiful pair of vintage Art Nouveau style double candleholders by Abingdon being offered from my private collection of art pottery. From 1933-1950 Abingdon Potteries of Abingdon, Illinois produced a line of art pottery including vases, planters and candleholders. These elegant double candleholders have raised pedestal bases and a flowing scroll design accented by gold trim. They are in very good original condition, clean inside and out with no chips or crazing. Please note there is one ultra fine hairline at the base of one candleholder which is from the make and is barely noticeable (see close up photo). This area is totally stable and shows no glaze loss whatsoever. It is a part of the pottery and in my opionion does not detract from the overall good looks of the pair. There are typical minor irregularities which are characteristic of the manufacturing process and add unique charm to the vintage appeal. The high-gloss glaze is a very attractive shade of creamy tan and the gold trim is well preserved with slight signs of age. This is truly a lovely pair of vintage Abingdon Art Nouveau candleholders. I have owned them for over two decades and know that a dedicated pottery collector will love owning them. And at this price what's not to love! Email me with any questions.
