Acer’s X183HB LCD monitor is an interesting specimen. First the size: 18.5″. Weird. Second the pixel format: 1366 x 768. This is usually reserved for lower-end LCD TVs and it is interesting that it is showing up on a largish LCD monitor. Most LCD monitors in this size range has a 1440 x 900 pixel format. Couple the 18.5″ size with a low pixel count and you get… voila! big fonts. And big fonts not having to deal with DPI settings in Windows! So if you like having big fonts and tired of having to getting a magnifying glass out to read some of the tiny microscopic texts you get with some of the new crop of “high resolution” monitors, Acer’s X183HB should be seriously considered.
