This
guitar was purchased in Granada Spain in May 1995. The friend who I am selling this for got it at Francisco Manuel Diaz's studio "from the man himself" as he says. Diaz was born in 1943 and is best known for
making some of Paco de Lucia's favorite guitars. He studied with Casa Ferrer and later
with Manuel de la Chica. He has taught
Antonio Arroyo, Juan Miguel Carmona, Rafael Diaz (his brother), and on
a certain occasion, the great grandson of Antonio de Torres. He is a legendary figure in Spain and his guitars will always remain a significant part of the country's heritage.
This is a guaranteed original in excellent , like-new condition which is the highest used grade. The true value now is approximately $12,000 . It's also a very rare item, the studio only makes one guitar every month or so. This is a low starting bid on an incredible guitar that sounds completely unique. Enthusiasts, collectors, investors, serious players, etc. do not want to miss this chance.
-Front and back: Spruce
-Sides: english white oak
-neck: mahogany
-there are also sections of Cypress wood
-similar in acoustic construction to a violin
-alvarez medium - nylon strings
-62 centimeter
- hard-shell case included
-seller will buy insurance upon shipping, it's included.
- note that the approximate u.s. domestic shipping cost is around 19-20 dollars. This is low - it will probably cost around $50 but the seller will cover the difference on that as well (incentive, because this MUST sell - he's in financial straits and would never part with this otherwise)
-please also note that the starting bid is the lowest possible price (just about what he paid for it 13 years ago). It will not be relisted for less later on.
- he had this on craigslist for the 8,500 price and it was almost purchased by a member of the Gypsy Kings, but the player needed the same type guitar in a different color. I only mention this to indicate the quality and desirability of the piece, in case it is not known.
*** The earlier draft of this listing stated that some form of payment arrangement would have to be made for the owner of the guitar but that is no longer the case. I am getting my paypal account verified which means I can send him the $ myself upon completed transaction. So, this purchase is 100% between me and the buyer, no 3rd party involvement. I am selling this in my store, which means I am taking the responsibilty for it. If you have any questions, please ask. Bid with confidence, I've seen and heard the guitar, and it will be shipped with the highest packing standards. I also have all positive feedback as a seller. Will ship internationally, please see rates at top of listing. - Thank You.
