DESCRIPTION: Stone Stain is a water based, semi-transparent stain and sealer for concrete and masonry. It is composed of modified acrylic polymers and pigments suitable for interior or exterior applications. Stone Stain is a highly durable polymer with good water resistance. It colors and seals new or old concrete. Stone Stain is not a paint but a true stain which penetrates into the pores of the concrete. This makes it less prone to wear, chipping or peeling. It provides color to the sub-strate without hiding its texture or character. It meets all air quality VOC requirements.APPLICATION: Surface Preparation - All surfaces must be clean and free of all dirt, dust, oil, grease, bond breakers, loose coatings, paint or anything which may inhibit penetration and adhesion. Washing with a cleaner and high pressure water is suitable for many applications. The recommended procedures for preparing a substrate are:1. Remove all oil and grease with suitable degreaser or stripper. 2. Wash surface with a solution of muriatic acid to open the concrete for better penetration. (optional) 3. Neutralize the acid and remove all residue. (optional) 4. Thoroughly clean with a cleanser (ie: TSP) and rinse with a high pressure washer. ADVANTAGES: Stone Stain is a safe, easy product to apply. It adds color and seals concrete without giving it a painted appearance. It is a durable polymer with good water resistance for interior or exterior applications. Unlike acid stains, Stone Stains provide a wide choice of colors and the colors are predictable. Unlike paint, Stone Stains provide color yet still allow the natural texture and character of the substrate to show. Stone Stains make it easy to clean driveways, garage and kitchen floors from grease, oil and other chemicals. The excellent water resistance properties make stone stain the recommended stain for artificial rocks and other surfaces around fountains and pools. It helps reduce the occurrence of efflorescence.One gallon covers 200-400sq. ft. depending on how pourous the surface is.
