Eighth American Edition, stated.
 
Hardcover. Original publisher's ornately blind-stamped cloth binding, with gilt lettering and designs on spine. Illustrated with engraved half-titles and full-page illustrations.
 
In Good antiquarian condition. Covers show some moderate edgewear, rubbing and stains, with light bumps to corners. Some sporadic foxing and light stains, but interior is clean with no other markings, and the binding is strong (although there is a light gutter separation at title page, with some creases to the gutters at a couple sections).

 

A nice copy of this scarce American edition.
