Aero Leather ‘Highwayman’…

The original and legendary Aero Leather "Highwayman", has often been copied but never equaled. As with all Aero Clothing Company`s products we aim to use the very best of materials which sets an Aero Highwayman apart from its clones. Since 1986, when we first acquired the old style chrome tanned heavy American front quarter horsehide, we have strived to honor the styling and techniques of US manufacturers from the mid- 1900`s. Our tannery has produced this leather using same tried and tested methods for close on 100 years, hence our use of this horsehide as first choice for Aero, every time!
This classic original jacket is available in a choice of four colors using American Heavy Front Quarter Horsehide: Black, Brown, Cordovan and Cherry. A choice of linings are offered. Whatever the body choice, the sleeves are lined in cotton drill for ease of wear. Storm cuffs are fitted for added wind resistance. The two deep hand-warmer pockets are lined in heavy cotton for durability, as is the zip breast pocket, which completes the classic look. The back features two-panel back sections: a shallow "V" shaped yolk being the only design feature on the back. The strap and brass buckle side adjusters ensure a snug fit at the waist. As with most Aero jackets we use the American manufactured brass Talon centre zipper. The sleeves are finished off with a traditional American style cuff. The overall effect of this hybrid jacket has proved popular with both sexes due to its easy on the eye and non pretentious styling. Early examples of our Highwayman are now highly sought after by many collectors around the globe.

We have discontinued using Talon zippers on our Utility style and motorcycle jackets in favor of our own
"Aero" brand in Bright Brass, Antiqued Brass and Bright Silver.
These have proven to be much stronger and all around better choice with our heavy horsehide jackets.

Size and Fit Information...

Aero Leather jackets are made-to-order and hand crafted for the individual customer.
We do not pre-make them then alter to fit the customer nor do we have them in-stock and ready to ship on a moment's notice.

After you have made your payment we can then get started on the sizing and details.

Many of our first time customers think it’s necessary to visit a tailor to get measured--this is unnecessary and not the way we want you to go about it.

Using a simple cloth tape measure (bought most anywhere for about a dollar) and doing it yourself usually works best for us.
Wearing a normal shirt, take your measurements under armpits, around fullest part of chest and shoulder blades.
