Agave FO-76 rare succulent @J@ plant cactus cacti 6536

AGAVE FO-76  , Beautiful slow growing, a tight and compact agave, short wide thick bluish leaves which have very large teeth pointing to the center making an agressive but very attractive look.

This specific plant have a very light mark on the center of each leaves (like mediopicta), will only see more clear with age, I don't think is a variegation, it's provably a natural mark on this variety.

Agave 'Felipe Otero' (FO-76) (Sierra Mixteca Agave) - This is a striking mid-sized agave that grows slowly . It has broad, relatively short, bluish-green leaves with a reddish-brown terminal spine and large recurved teeth to inside along the leaf margins that turn with age to a gray-white. The leaf margins themselves age to the same color as the spines which gives this plant a very distinctive look. This plant was originally distributed as Agave titanota and later as Agave sp. "Sierra Mixteca" with the Felipe Otero collection designation FO-76.  It seems to have affinities with Agave titanota, which has very gray-colored leaves but some speculate that it is a hybrid of A. titanota . I think is a variety or hybrid of titanota, whatever you call this plant, it is very attractive. Plant in full sun in well drain soil . It has proven cold hardy to 20 F and may tolerate even colder temperatures. It is a very nice landscape plant and its smaller size make it a good potted specimen.
