Kurt I don't even know how to express it. I've been playing guitar since '66 or so (Beatles era) and been through an untold amount of guitars. In those years only a handful of guitars are memorable. The AD-2300 is absolutely joining that club. I have no criticisms whatsoever. I added some handwound P-90's ( personal favorites) and I cannot put this guitar down. The most amazing part is the price. Everything about it I like even stupid details like one screw for the truss-rod cover. Compared to an Epiphone absolutely no contest. I put this in the same category as classic Fernandes/Burny's made in Japan and Tokai's. The control cavity was the biggest surprise. Absolutely perfectly clean routing painted with shielding paint with foil shielding on the plastic. Quality full size 500k pots and classic wiring. The perfect guitar to start my Agile collection with. Thank you very, very much. Ted 1-7-2007

"This guitar IS the BEST DEAL EVER MADE. I hate to bring down those who haves spent thousands of $$ for a real Les Paul..but I am not going to lie. My brother owns a '92 Les Paul Studio Lite w/ ceramic pickups...and we have jamed side by side through a Marshall half stack. And, I have played both my Essex and his Les Paul extensively since Xmass to compare them. " It is a handsome guitar. Mine was set up very well out of the box. In fact I have made no adjustments to it. I bought it thinking I would replace the pups but after playing it, I have decided to hold off. These pups are quite pleasing for playing blues as I am presently focusing on. Frets on mine are medium I find this very pleasant to finger. Frets are polished satisfactory and no sharp edges. All in all an amazing guitar for $129. Now for some points you need to consider before buying. This is a very heavy guitar, although that is the nature of the beast for any LP jr even if it was a Gibson. You will probablly be more comfortable playing with a strap even when sitting down due to the shape of a body" .
