I am selling the softbound book AIR GUNNER by Mike Henry, DFC, copyright 1997. The book measures approximately 5" x 8" and is 223 pages long. The book is in good condition. This volume is a Goodall paperback published by Crecy Publishing Limited in the UK. A center section of black-and-white photographs illustrates the text.
Air Gunner is a light-hearted, yet poignant story of one man and many of his colleagues who shared the honour and tragedies of war-time flying.
The author served as a wireless operator/air gunner on medium bombers -- at first on Blenheims -- with a number of squadrons of 2 Group. Before enlisting in the RAF, Mike Henry spent six months with the Royal Corps of Signals, Territorial Army. To add the third service arm to his record, he went to sea twice with the Royal Navy during the war where once again he was in the heart of the action.
This book is a memoir detailing Mike Henry's experiences as an air gunner in the Royal Air Force during World War II.
