Please see here for your consideration the only full scale ADF Pod Rocket launchers that were used on Airwolf. Created in the smallest detail using the real studio blueprints that built the ADF pod for the screen used Airwolf from the TV series and movie. This is the only time anyone has ever duplicated this weapon system in full scale. The weight and the construction was recreated with the same materials and construction as the originals. It was important that this unit was constructed in the fashion so it came into the allowed weight and durability that was required of it as this was being placed of a registered FAA flying aircraft, (Bell 222A) Airwolf.
This beautiful mockup weighs in as the studio version did. Around 100 pounds, And about 6 feet long and 3 feet wide, Constructed of aircraft aluminum and 5 inch diameter high grade aluminum main launch tubes. Real fittings and many hand crafted special parts went into this construction to create what you see here.
Prop Master Steven W Stull created these for the Helicopter museum in Pigeon Forge Tennessee for the full scale Airwolf that was on display there.
The original ADF that was used on Airwolf during the filming was cut up and destroyed due to the heavy damage it received from the constant mounting and dismounting required during shooting the films. The pod was also bottom out a few times with gear up while shooting.
This is the only Airwolf ADF there is today that exists.
Please follow this link to many great shots of this ADF pod before being mounted on "The Lady"
Chance of a lifetime here and a great display! They look very real and even aged to look as if being fired.
