In August 2008, Akadema did what very few American companies do these days. They brought American manufacturing home and created jobs for American craftsman. Why is this so unique? Since the 1950's the American baseball glove manufacturing industry has shrunk from an estimated five thousand jobs to less then fifty jobs in 2007.

A new baseball factory has not been built in the USA by an established recognized brand in nearly two decades. The reasons for the demise are all too familiar; after the costs of wages, insurance, benefits, taxation, and regulations. These obstacles increase the products cost over three times and make it impossible to compete against foreign imports.

Then why would Akadema build gloves in the USA? The ownership has a love of the game and the USA. Akadema believes Americans should be able to make products which are loved and respected around the world. Our goal is to be the USA's largest domestic baseball glove manufacturer and make the best quality product. Akadema is willing to sacrifice the bottom line.

At Akadema® Professional, we have not only designed a glove line with a professional and collegian player in mind, but also players of all ages and abilities. Each glove is tailor-made for selected positions with the sole purpose of raising a player's performance on the field.

1. Akadema uses only the top USA Steerhide for its Professional Series Gloves. The Professional Glove series uses US Steerhide on the glove shell, palm lining, finger lining, and binding. Akadema uses the leather from the back and shoulder area for a strong thick glove.

2. The Professional Series uses the top ¼" USA rawhide for its laces. Stronger sewing and welting techniques have strengthened the Akadema glove.

3. Infield and outfield gloves have "laced through fingers." This lacing procedure makes the glove easier for a player to tighten and maintain.

4. Using a method started by Major League equipment managers, all open web infield gloves have reinforced lacing to strengthen the shell and pocket for less tearing in the pocket and a stronger overall glove.

5. Akadema does not use pre oiled /conditioned leather in its Pro Series infield, pitching and outfield making the glove lighter and stronger for professional use.

Combined Shipping / Order Consolidation / Reduced Shipping for Multiple Items
If you are bidding on multiple auction items, we are glad to offer you combined (reduced) shipping charges. Our checkout system will automatically combine your auction purchases into a single order and consolidate your shipping charges.

In order to receive combined shipping savings, please do not checkout until after your last auction has closed or last Buy It Now has been completed. Once your last auction has closed, please proceed to our checkout system and you will find all of your items in your shopping cart and will be offered combined shipping accordingly. Please note: To Calculate shipping charges for the Economy Saver Shipping all you have to do is take the highest Base Shipping Charge from the items that you won and add the additional items shipping charge for each additional item that you purchased from us.
International Customers and upgraded domestic shipping methods: the shipping price is based on the total size and weight of each item in your order and calculated accordingly based on the service that you select.

Payment Terms
We require that all items be paid for within 7 days of the end of the auction. If you are bidding on multiple items and need more than 7 days to complete payment, please be sure to contact us. If an item remains unpaid for 10 days, we will begin the Unpaid Item process with eBay to recoup our eBay fees and will, ultimately, release the product back into our inventory for re-sale.

Shipping Mishaps
We insure all of our items for the full purchase price. If anything happens to your package in transit, please contact us ASAP. We will do everything in our power to get you an acceptable replacement or to facilitate a prompt repair. If this cannot be achieved, we will provide you with a full refund.

If the item you receive does not match the order you placed with us, please contact our Customer Service department for assistance. A representative will help you determine the best way get the correct item to you as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately we have stopped allowing local pickups, due to the amount of auctions that we are selling and certain paypal and credit card dispute issues that we have had to face.
