I've had many wonderful electronic purchases from the Internet, classifieds and swap-meets. I've also been stuck with a few real junkers from unscrupulous sellers.
With over 30 years of electronics engineering & tech repair experience, I've put together 12 very important points / purchasing questions to ask when considering any used piece of electronics. The answers yeild very important info about the condition and the value of the electronics being considered for purchase.
Now, you too can be armed with this helpful negotiating power and avoid being stuck with a lemon. In many cases this info will scare off Scam-Artist sellers... or get you a much better deal.

- Gregg, I finally got to KC to pick up my SX-190. It was virtually dead but a couple of hours trying to realign it with your instructions sure brought it back to life! It is much better now, although I haven't hooked it up to a "real" antenna yet. - I own a SX-190. I have no LSB. The radio was sent to Radio Shack service center. The tech said he could not find the part, nor a service manual due to its age. Would this manual solve this problem for a homegrown tech, if the Radio Shack part could be replaced with a generic part?
