This is an Allis Chalmers Garden Tractor with 36" Snow Blower and a 42" deck complete. This is also the same tractor in every way as the Simplicity 7114 and all parts are interchangeable. Back when this tractor was build Allis Chalmers also built the Simplicity. This tractor has seen it's better day but it still works and runs good. This is a big tractor and weighs in around 1000lbs. These where built to last a lifetime and for the most part they are pretty indestructible. I've had this tractor for several years and worked it when I lived in Ohio. I live in Louisville KY now and in the last three years I plowed snow once a winter for about an hour, ha-ha. I think it is time to find it a new home. I'll tell you what I can about it so you have a good idea what I'm offering. Just remember that this tractor was built in the early 80s so it is no Spring Chicken.
This tractor comes with wheel weights and snow chains. I'm not sure if the snow thrower is considered a two stage or three stage but I think the dealer told me it is a three stage. The bearings and auger on the snow thrower are in great working order. I can tell you that it will throw snow a good 20-30'. I have a 42" deck that is complete and in good shape. It is not the original deck and someone painted it red but it is the correct deck for this model, free of holes and the bearings and blades are all good. I personal have never used but these decks can be hard to find so I bought this to replace the original a few years back. This tractor has front, mid and rear PTO so you can run other accessories too. I use to have the tiller but sold it last spring. I still see plenty of tillers on the market for this tractor so finding one won't be hard if you are interested in using it that way.
Last year we had a ice storm followed by snow and when I got this out to plow a branch came down off a tree and damaged some of the sheet metal while it was sitting. I was able to straighten it out for the most part but it is not perfect. the steering is a little loose but it just needs a bushing replaced. This will take a small car battery but the battery currently in it is a small tractor battery and while it while start it easily in the summer it makes it a little hard to start it in the winter. I usually need to give it a boost to crank it over. The tires are all just fine and you will have no problem getting plenty of use from them. The headlights work but I don't have them wired up anymore.
The engine and transmission are strong. The 14hp Kohler has lots of compression and does not smoke. I just changed the oil with 10w30 for winter use. The hydro transmission works as it should and I changed out fluid and filter last spring. The key switch is a little worn out but still works.
This tractor needs a little TLC but it is ready to go to work. I thought there would be a time I might want to restore this back to it's original condition but I just don't have the time. This would be a great platform for someone who was into that type of activity.
They say this is suppose to be a winter with lots of snow for you folks in the midwest and up north so I hope you can put the old girl to work. You are welcome to pick this up in Louisville or I can help deliver the Allis, or meet you part way as long as you will cover my expense. I prefer cash at time of pick up but if I'm delivering it then a deposit will be required. If you are interested in some form of delivery then just write me in advance and we can talk about what would be exceptable.
I'm starting the auction at $375 with no reserve. There is no buy it now and the final price is the final bid. I think I have covered just about everything but just remember, this tractor is some 25 years old. Thanks for looking and good luck if you are bidding.
