This is another 2nd-year "West’s Best" choice for all kinds of good reasons. After a strong first set that ended with "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" and "Egypt," Jack Pearson joined the band for virtually the entire second set of this small venue show. Besides his usual guitar heroics, the versatile Mr. Pearson plays bass on "Statesboro Blues." The triple-guitar version of "The Same Thing" will make your hair stand on end, and "Dimples" has a mighty groove to it. "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" was always one of Jack’s showstoppers when he was a member of the band, and this rendition shows he hasn’t forgotten how to rip it up.
