Our Aloha bill commemorates that great Hawaiian Aloha Spirit, which is often described as a sense of hospitality and care for those around, as well as respect for their personhood, even in the face of stressful environments.  Aloha basically means love, affection, peace, mercy, compassion, and even goodbye and hello.  It is the Aloha Spirit from which the State of Hawaii gets its official nickname.  The back of the bill commemorates that famous surfing term, Hang Ten, in which a surfer will stand at the front of a surf board and wrap the ten toes of the feet around the front of the surfboard while surfing the waves, a famous past-time in Hawaii.  In fact, the sport of surfing on a board was a Hawaiian concept that spread to the rest of the world.
