Amazing Early 1900s Slag Glass Brass Lamp Shade-Marked PH
This offering is a marvelous Arts and Crafts period lamp shade constructed of brass and slag glass. This heavy piece (weighs 16 pounds) would have stood on a relatively plain bronze base. It is ornate, featuring ribbons, medallions and scrolls in brass which frame the eight panels of beautiful caramel and cream slag glass. The smaller lower panels are also ornate and feature the delicate flowing ribbon design. Each of the total 16 panels are marked with the initials P and H (could it be Peter Handel?). This amazing lamp shade measures approximately 18 inches in diameter and is about 9 inches deep. There are no cracks, chips or dings in the glass, which is pretty remarkable for a shade this old. The brass and all the connections are in tact as well as illustrated in the photos. We have been unable to identify the maker, so if anyone has any information about PH, please let us know and we'll add it to this listing.
