Ambassadeur 5000 DL DeLuxe Reel w/Orig Wood Box

This auction is for a Very Fine Vintage Gold Electroplated ABU Ambassadeur 5000 De Luxe Bait Casting Reel which comes in its Original Wooden Presentation Box.

Included in the box is a second larger capacity spool (unused), a wrench, a tube of oil (now dry), a tube of spare parts and screws, and the original Ambassadeur 5000 user guide and parts schematic booklet.

In addition, this item also comes with a sterling silver plate for monogramming and placement on the box's lid.

The reel's serial number is 5164 which also dates it to that time period.

As our photos will show, one arm of the handle has broken off but as it is, the handle still works fine.

Secondly, one of four screws is missing on the side opposite the handle. The spare parts tube looks to have several screws which would work, but the hole is stripped.

Beyond the above noted exceptions, this fine reel has seen some use and there are a few small nicks here and there in the black and in the gold finish.

Still the reason why it shows some use is because it is such a fine reel to begin with.

This is a highly collectable (and useable) vintage reel and it is rare to find it with its original presentation box and accessories.

Collectors will not be disappointed.
