The past 30 years have revolved around her recovering alcoholic hubby and career. But one day, something changes. So what does a fiftysomething celebrity food author do to save her sanity and her relationship? She signs up to be an EMT! It's a far stretch from critiquing corned beef hash when Jane goes out on emergency calls. If only she could get past her fear of ambulances, maybe she could actually save someone.

Feeing stuck in a rut? This movie will inspire you to overcome obstacles and pursue your passions. And it'll deliver plenty of laughs in the process!

In Harry Sherer's prolific and extremely funny career, he has offered up no shortage of memorable characters. Among the most popular have been This Is Spinal Tap's bass player, Derek Smalls, and tightfisted Springfield billionaire C. Montgomery Burns. His range and versatility enable him to give voice to a host of other Simpsons characters including Burns's lackey Smithers, Simpson neighbor Ned Flanders, Principal Seymour Skinner, the Reverend Lovejoy and intergalactic invader Kang.

 

 

 

Kathy Bates Bio:

 

 Kathy Bates plays Jane Stern ? one half of an award-winning food writing team. Between her anxieties, neurosis, depression and rocky marriage, Jane is in a bit of a funk. Her unusual solution to her midlife crisis? Become an EMT! "It's easy to identify with her struggle," says Bates. "She's a good example of how you can change your life, take risks and go after dreams. She's a courageous yet ordinary person and she's lovable. Lifetime viewers are going to eat Jane Stern up with a spoon."

Bates has a knack for portraying over-the-top women like Stern. After all, Bates has played a psychotic fan, a foul-mouthed TV producer and a political dirt-digger. The bold actress even went skinny-dipping on-screen as a hippie mom in "About Schmidt." Her work has garnered an Academy Award, two Golden Globes and other accolades. Bates has also directed films and TV, and is the director of "Ambulance Girl."
