This definitive work, compiled over one hundred years ago, covers the history and development of ceramics in America. Ceramics includes stoneware, pottery, china and porcelain.

The first book covers the evolution of pottery in early America, including brick and tile making, development of potteries from the early 17th century to the nineteenth century, and china manufactories of those early periods. In the second volume, significance is given to early American pottery and stoneware by region: Pennsylvania Potteries; New Jersey Potteries; New York Potteries; New England Potteries; Ohio Potteries; and Potteries of the Southern States. This comprehensive and scholarly work belongs in the permanent reference library of the serious collector, dealer, or historian of antique early American pottery, stoneware, and china.
