September 1986 issue of American Theatre magazine is complete and in good condition. Mailing label has been removed from cover, and there are some scuff marks and a small tear on the bottom right-hand corner of the front cover. No inside marks or missing pages. Comes from smokefree household.

Cover features Public Theater impresario Joseph Papp. Inside is 8-page interview with Papp by Ross Wetzsteon. Also inside: 5-page article by Wallace Shawn, "Reflections After Writing a Play in the Age of Reason"; and the complete text of the Dom DeLillo play "The Day Room."
