Do you like art mysteries? This is believed to be an original oil painting by 19th century American artist Karl Witkowski (1860-1910). However, it also might be the work of J.G. Brown, the master with whom he studied. Witkowski also received training with Jan Matejko.

Witkowski hailed from Austria, but painted many shoeshine and paper boys in growing cities. In 1899, Witkowski exhibited his works at the National Academy in New York City.

This work is unsigned but Witkowski was known to not sign certain pieces, shrouding himself -- and Brown -- in mystery.

B2BZone is proud to sell this item on consignment for the owner in SE Michigan. This painting has been in the owner's family for decades.

This piece is an oil on board/wood with original wood frame. It's in excellent condition and looks like it was painted yesterday. Dimensions: 13" X 19".
