America's 1st Silver Dollar - Spanish 8 Reale Coin
America's First Silver Dollar in plastic holder with Certificate of Authenticity. Back of holder reads: These Eight Reales, also known as Portrait Dollars, were discovered in the remains of a Spanish brig of war off the coast of Louisiana / Eight Reales were the preferred form of currency during the Revoltionary War era. Recognized as America's first Silver Dollar, it was accepted as legal tender up until 1857. Weight: 27 grams, Fineness: .903 Fine Silver, Diameter: 39mm, Obverse: Charles III Bust & Date, Reverse: Pillars of Hercules and Spanish Coat of Arms.
