Up for auction is a Ancient Egyptian Cosmetic Vessel. It is made out of Hamr Stone. Its size is 6 x 15cm or about 2 3/8" x 5" and its source is around the Aswan area. Cosmetic Vessels have been depicted since the first dynasty. The first jars were made of granite and basalt, and later alabaster and had a pronounced lip. I bought this vessel from a company of Merchant of Luxor. I DO NOT have a certificate of authenticity.. This vessel is in very good condition. Please look at the photos and ask questions before bidding. Thank you!
