This reproduction features 6 removable panels with the constellations engraved on each. Measures 5" in diameter.
The astrolabe was a navigational instrument used to measure the vertical angle between the horizon or the horizontal plane at the observer, and a celestial feature. An astrolabe is used to determine the geographic coordinates of points on the Earth's surface.
