PROVENANCE:

IMPECCABLE
provenance as this piece was excavated by:

Edward Thompson!

This jade ceremonial ax-head was purchased by me in 1994,
from a private family in Boston, Massachusetts.

The woman I acquired this jade piece from
was a grand-daughter of a Harvard University
professor and archaeologist.
She was liquidating all of the many
ancient Maya artifacts from her grand-father's estate.
I acquired them all.

This is my very last piece of the entire collection.

This artifact, as well as the others,
was discovered in the Yucatan of the Maya's Mexico at
the turn of the 20th century,
approximately 1900,
when and where her grand-father did his work
through Harvard.
Excavated near Chichen Itza.

Excavated by: Edward Thompson

CONDITION:

Very fine!

(see photos, please)

Yet,
not perfect as if bought at Macy's last night.
"It is what it is."
It is absolutely stunning.

Since my possessing this artifact
some fifteen years ago,
it has been extremely well cared for,
rarely handled,
kept inside a glass display case
