This auction is for a Ancient Roman Mediterranean bronze vessel (or vase? - or object?). The 4 rounded shapes that protrude from the side of this wonderful object are actually bells, and some of them still have make a sound. I am no expert on this type of thing, but it looks genuine to me. I took lots of photos so you can judge for yourself. Please email me with comments and suggestions and I will post to ad. I showed it to a couple of colleagues and they agree that it is genuinely an ancient artifact. It stands almost 4 ¾” tall. Even though this great item could be worth more, I believe in ebay auctions, so I am starting the bidding at $49.99. Thanks for looking, and good luck if you choose to bid. Please read my shipping requirements (third paragraph) before you bid
Thank you for considering this item I am selling today. I have been selling antiques for more than 25 years; however, that does not qualify me as an expert on all of the items I sell. I know more about some antiques than I do about others. I ask questions and research items as much as possible. On some items I only claim to know enough to write up a simple description of the item. I am a pretty good photographer, and I always try to get a good shot of specific and overall condition and of the signatures et cetera, so take a good look at all the photographs, after all, isn’t a picture worth a thousand words? I make every effort to describe my items as clearly and accurately as possible, but I want you to be aware that vintage items do have flaws, and wear that one expects to see on old or vintage items. These flaws, wear, or even damage are sometimes difficult to see and difficult to describe in an ebay ad. If I see the problem, I assure you that I will describe the damage and if possible include a photo of that problem. I often list items that you as a collector are more familiar with than I am as a dealer, therefore you may know about possible problems and what to look for, that I may have overlooked. If you are in doubt please ask me first and don’t bid until you are satisfied with my answer. I strive for accuracy in my descriptions, and I'm always happy to provide additional information and photographs especially if I am asked the right questions. If I have misstated anything it is due to ignorance and not intent. Most all of the items I sell are vintage. As such most have lived very long an eventful lives and as such will not look brand new. Unless I state items are "NEW or MINT" there is bound to be some amount of wear and aging.
