To raise money to for a memorial scholarship in the name of Dean Barber, our art teacher, to be awarded to a student at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, NC
100% of the purchase price for this piece goes to establishing the Dean Barber Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is operated by Education Works a 501c3 non profit. We are an all volunteer non profit and the operating costs of the fundraiser are funded separately. While the non profit is new to Ebay, the organization is trustworthy and will honor our commitments in any sale. (www.barberfundraiser.org.) This piece was generously donated to the auction by Amy Phillip, a Myers Park High School graduate and former Barber student. This a piece was done in polymer and ink and is 16"x17". It is framed, but the frame has a chip on it. The piece does not appear to be signed by Dean Barber, but it is mounted within the frame. So there may be signature on the back of the piece. Dean Barber was an art teacher at Myers Park (Charlotte NC) from the early 1960s until 1987. Not only was he an outstanding teacher, but his instruction enouraged countless of students to pursue arts related careers, including helping them gain scholarships to attend those colleges.
