Here is an excellent example of neoclassical art. This thermometer is very unique and hard to find. It is made of granite stone and bronze and is meticulously detailed. It measures: 11 and 3/4" inches in height to the top of the head and the square at the bottom is 3" inches; the square at the top part is almost 2.5" inches. Those square parts have a few small dents at the edges which are not noticeable to the naked eye, only to the touch. Time period: about 1850 to 1900. The column top bronze parts still has the gold plated finish but the other gold plated parts have faded, however, these areas have a beautiful patina wash by the edges. The mercury filled instrument and readout are in excellent condition. G G G G G Make sure to look closely at the photos so you know exactly what you are getting.
